Patching- Repair of a specific area of damaged asphalt.

Patching is most commonly used to repair potholes and "alligatored" areas. The strength and durability of the patch depends very much on the method it is applied. We do our patches right! The area to be repaired is saw cut to make a "clean" edge to contain new asphalt. Subgrade material is reapplied, if necessary, and compacted. Asphalt binder is used to "glue" the new asphalt to the old. The patch is then completed by compacting new asphalt into the patch.
